Only sell, not send.
As a writer, you are too stingy to send your friend a book of your own!
It seems that the stories of every industry have similarities.
1.
I have a friend who studies fashion design. Her teacher is an internationally renowned fashion designer. Several years ago, she published a professional book. By chance, we sat together for coffee. I pretended to be a fan and asked her teacher for a signed book, but when I got home, I took a look and threw it aside because I was not interested in the content of the book.
Later, when we met again, we accidentally talked about the book. Everyone is sharing their experiences, but I said, I don't know where I threw it.
Others say that designers have unique personalities. Sure enough, I obviously saw her teacher's expression turn from joy to anger. Obviously, the air solidified instantly at that time, and the atmosphere was very embarrassing.
I don't know what I said or did wrong, why, and my personality is too paranoid. It was not until later that I published a book that I realized the feeling of being in the same boat.
2.
Every writer who publishes a book may have encountered such a situation. When you publish a new book, many people around you will say to you: send me a copy of your book. Even if we just know each other, we don't know each other well.
In the past, I would give it away because of face, but later I found that many books I gave away were not taken seriously, and a large number of people just turned the books I gave away over and put them on the bookshelf as decorations.
When I asked him: Have you finished reading it?
He said: I have been busy recently and have no time to watch it. I think those who are too busy to see it will probably never see it in their lifetime.
In that case, why do you want me to send you the book?
Someone actually said bluntly: I don't like reading, so take your book as a souvenir.
In fact, many people don't understand that this kind of behavior is very disrespectful to a writer. Writing a book not only needs a lot of energy and painstaking efforts, but also needs to reflect whether the values can be recognized. It is the most satisfying crystallization of wisdom created by a writer who has racked his brains. When it comes out, it's really as precious as a piece of meat falling from yourself.
You can not love, but please respect.
I remember when my sister interviewed Da Bing on the radio, Qin Hao asked Da Bing: Do you think your article is better than that written by Zhang Jiajia?
Big ice said without thinking, of course it's mine.
Qin Hao said with a smile, you said it yourself.
Yes, because when I write a book, it's like giving birth to a little girl. In the eyes of parents, of course, it is their own children.
Therefore, every writer will regard his book as a treasure, as life, and being desecrated is like disrespecting the author himself. Many people know that "scholars despise each other", but in my opinion, it does not necessarily mean that scholars despise each other, but that every writer will be loyal to his own words, just as it is important to be loyal to his love, affection and friendship.
Therefore, what you are loyal to, like faith, is inviolable.

When my new book was published, one of my relatives bought more than 30 books for his family and friends who love reading.
He said that this is not only a support for me, but also a respect for creation.
If you like a movie star, you can go to see his movies; if you like a singer, you can listen to his songs; if you like a writer, you can buy his books. Everything is so natural that moral kidnapping is not allowed.
My cousin told me, how much is your book? I will buy one.
I said, you still need to buy my book. I'll give it to you later.
Cousin went on to say: who read the book you sent? Only books that you really spend money on will be read carefully.
I think it may be true.
My relationship with big ice is good. I bought every book of his, and I won't force him to come to dinner as before.
Although giving away books does not necessarily mean that they are worthless, they will be largely ignored, just as things that are easily obtained will not be cherished. Only what you strive for will understand its value. Similarly, a book will only be read carefully if you spend money on it, and then you can judge whether the book is equivalent to the money you spend, otherwise you don't even have the capital to judge whether a book is good or bad.

My books are all limited editions. Why should I give them away?
At present, it is really not a good choice to write books to earn money to support the family, but as authors, we have an obligation to convey our ideas to readers.
Although I follow a minority publishing route, I won't be as popular as a best-selling author, but after writing for so many years, there are also some loyal readers, although not many, but enough to warm each other. And I have confidence in my article, which will give readers who like my book warmth and strength that other writers can't.
In order to thank readers for their support, I decided that each of my books was a limited edition. There are so many books published by the publishing house for the first time, and I won't print them, just like the first two books, until they are sold out.
Some readers read my new book, said they still wanted to read it, and asked me if I still sold my last book.
I honestly said: no, it's sold out.
If you still want to read my book, you'll have to wait for my next book.
This is my personal feeling, to ensure that every reader who buys books can get a limited edition. If one day in the future, I really need to print more, then I will also choose to redesign, add or subtract some content, not as original, or try my best to ensure that every reader who buys books can get a limited edition.
Whether you buy it or not, my book is right there, no more, no less, just right.

Nowadays, this is an era when there is no shortage of books, but it is also an era when the reading atmosphere is fading. For writers, this is not an ideal era. However, it never rains alone. However, the prevalence of e-books and the fact that paper books are less and less chosen by the public, despite the occasional appearance of several best-selling authors, can not hide the decline in reading volume.
To this end, I made a bold decision at the beginning of this year, and founded the "Zuo Shu Bar" offline experience store.
Now, as many friends know, I have a book called Zuo's book. This book bar is in cooperation with Banyishan Cafe (Langang Store).
"Zuo Shu Bar" is a public welfare project initiated by me. The original intention of this public welfare project is to enable people to have a reading environment anytime and anywhere, so that more people can develop the habit of learning at any time. So its purpose is: read anytime, anywhere and be informed at any time!
If you like my book and don't want to spend money on it (but it is strongly recommended not to buy it), you can come to the left book bar to read it for free. Not only my books, but also hundreds of books here can be read for free.
So where does the operating expenses of this public welfare book bar come from? That's right, it's my manuscript fee and the money I earn from selling books. That is the truth of "take it from the people and use it for the people".
How much can you earn by doing public welfare? Because you know, you are kind.
If someone abducts me with morality again and says that I am your friend, and you don't even give me a copy, then don't treat me as a friend.
Or some people say: it is too stingy for a writer not to give me books.
I will only say: only sell and not send, I want to use the money from selling books for public welfare.
If you don't explain, those who understand will naturally understand, and those who don't understand will be hypocritical to say more.

Words are valuable, please give them due respect.
All my books are limited edition. Whether you buy them or not, they are there, no more, no less, just right.
I have confidence in my story and will not let the readers down.
Public welfare is something that everyone can participate in. The seller and the buyer do it together. Why not?
