Standards Act Cap 496, laws of Kenya ) and the "Quality Imports Order No. 78" issued in July 2005. In order to ensure the quality of imported products and provide Kenyan consumers with safety, health, environmental and other protections, Kenyan standards Bureau (KEBS) began to implement the Pre-Export Verification of Standard Conformity (PVoC) on September 29, 2005.
Before the implementation of the PVoC plan, Kenya adopted an arrival verification system for imported goods, but this easily led to delays in the entry of goods into the port, and for unqualified products, KEBS also had to repatriate them or label them as non-contaminated. The environment is destroyed in a manner that creates additional burdens. Therefore, PVoC, a pre-shipment verification method, has been adopted since 2005.
What are the procedures for COC certification:
1. The exporter and the Kenyan buyer confirm the procurement contract and obtain the IDF provided by the customer;
2. The exporter provides Samples are tested or factory inspection data are evaluated;
3. The certification body issues a KEBS standard report;
4. The certification body compiles and submits exporter reports, packing lists, invoices, and IDF , COC application form, product description and usage description, ***6 items of information;
5. Exporter applies for appointment for inspection and loading supervision;
6. Certification agency inspection A PVOC certification COC certificate will be issued upon completion
