What's the experience of being invited to speak at TEDx?
20 14+0 1 officially joined the Formula Racing Team of Zhejiang University and began to participate in the FSAE race. On may 20 15, the team was invited to attend the TEDxZJU summer conference. At that time, the captain was busy with the basic work, so I chose the best one in the team to make this speech. Among the eight guests at that time, we were the only school representatives. Every school guest who has stood on the stage in TEDxZJU for five years, whether he is a superb research group or a designer of soft robots, is a scholar who has achieved great success in his own field, including of course the respected power teacher in Zhihu. However, we were just a group of children who were just on the road, and we were still a little scared to give a technical lecture in TEDxZJu. The organizer has been giving us a lot of help. The volunteer in charge of our customer base is a senior one level higher than me. He will often exchange speeches with me, including several sponsors, and will often know about our team and the competition. It's almost a week since I decided to give a speech, and after repeated discussions, I basically decided on the content of the speech. From the establishment and development of the motorcade, the growth of individuals and teams, the understanding of the industry, and the thinking about the identity of engineers, the most impressive thing in the discussion is that several volunteers have always stressed that they will not interfere with the content of the speech and say whatever they want. They just help improve the effect of the speech. It is easy for the audience to get bored when giving a technical lecture. After writing the first lecture, they spent too much space explaining the principle and design of DRS, which led to the lack of interest of several listeners and their inability to speak on the stage.

Later, I felt that to make this kind of non-academic public speech, I still had to rely on ups and downs of stories and plots to attract the audience. Later, we only made some very simple technical explanations, and integrated more experiences into the story telling and some feelings all the time, so that the audience could understand what we were doing and why we were doing it, so as to understand what we wanted to express. Finally, we will probably speak along this line.
