About the Dutch socialist party
Partij van de Arbeid (PvdA) is a Dutch political party inclined to social democracy. It is also a member organization of the Socialist International.

1946 On February 9th, the left-wing liberal minority party Social Democratic Workers' Party (SDAP), Liberal Democratic Union (VDB) and Christian Democratic Union (CDU) merged to form the Labor Party. In addition, it also includes Catholic World War II resistance group "Christofoor", Protestant political party Christian Historical Union (CHU), Counter-revolutionary Party (ARP) and other parties.

The founder of the Labor Party hopes to establish a broad political party to break the historical pain of polarization. They hope to establish a new political system called "breakthrough". The Labour Party combines the socialist ideal with liberalism, religion and humanism. However, the Labour Party cannot break this pillar. During the period of 1948, some liberal members headed by Pieter Oud, the former leader of the Liberal Democratic Alliance, resigned from the Labour Party because they were dissatisfied with its socialist line. They formed the right-wing conservative Liberal Democratic People's Party.

From 1946 to 1958, the Labour Party and the Catholic People's Party (KVP) formed a ruling alliance. The two political parties gained a majority in parliament.

The Labour Party takes social democracy as its religion and attaches importance to social, political and economic equality. In the party's 1977 plan, it was required that important industries, banks and insurance companies be made public, but in the new plan of 65438+ of 29 October 2005, this requirement was replaced by slogans such as "a safe and dignified life" and "everyone can fully participate in society".

The party adopted a new platform to express its center-left political stance. Its core topic is employment; Social insurance and welfare; Invest in public education, public safety and health insurance.
