In the east of Henan, there is a low-key ancient capital called Shangqiu. When I was a child, I always felt that this place was not worth it, because there were many hills called Shangqiu. But when I was a child, I thought it was because there were many businessmen here. Later, I came into contact with the history of China and got a new view on why this place is called Shangqiu, not only because it was the original capital of Shang Dynasty, but also because there are many other legends.

First, the legendary name originated before the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, and there was an era of Emperor Shun, that is, when Yao, Shun and Yu ruled the world. There is a God named Di Ku in heaven. He had a son named Kun Bo, who was respected by the local people because Yu later helped Dayu control water, so he was appointed as a fire officer, which means he was responsible for teaching people here how to use fire. And he brought kindling everywhere in Shangqiu, so he formed a small hill, which is the origin of the legendary Shangqiu name. So this is the reason why the name of Shangqiu is related to fire.

Second, the origin of the name on the text In fact, there is no doubt that Shangqiu's business and business place are related to the Shang Dynasty. But the word autumn does not represent the numerous hills here, but the evolution of the word Shang. In Shang Dynasty, we used Oracle Bone Inscriptions, Oracle Bone Inscriptions was an image font, and the word Shang in Oracle Bone Inscriptions was written like a hill, so later generations added a hill behind it, which became Shangqiu. Of course, this is a speculation at the literal level, but it is also very reasonable in logic.

Third, the evolution of Shangqiu in history In fact, Shangqiu is not only the origin of Shang Dynasty, but also the capital of Song Dynasty. After Qin Shihuang unified the six countries, he was named Liang County. Therefore, Shangqiu in all previous dynasties was valued by emperors, mainly because of its special geographical location. Because Shangqiu is the link between the East and the West, and because of the terrain, it is easy to be used for formation defense. So when the rebellion of the Seven Kings broke out during the reign of Emperor Han Jing, it was in Shangqiu that Liu Wu, the king of Liang, repelled the rebels and made great contributions. Finally, although the situation has gone, Shangqiu's economy is still thriving.
