"'Xinyu Tangju', formerly known as Jia Peng No.39, was an excellent single plant accidentally discovered by the older generation of technicians of Pengjia Village Committee in Wei Yao Town during the citrus resources survey in the 1970s. The older generation of technicians have a good eye for pearls, thinking that this may be a precursor to a new variety, so they deliberately cultivated it. "At that time, the government also encouraged our employees to grow oranges," Wang said.
