The earliest existing records of "quenching thirst by drinking poison and relieving the relieving of military power" are Ding Wei's Talks on Jin Dinggong and Wang Zeng's Public Records of Wang Wenzheng.
Ding Wei's Tan Lu in Song Dynasty recorded a dialogue between Zhao Kuangyin and Zhao Pu. After listening to Zhao Pu's proposal, Mao suddenly realized that it was to relieve the two men of their military power.
This record shows that Mao, under the persuasion of Zhao Pu and at the suggestion of Zhao Pu, began to remove the military power. There is no dramatic story of "returning to the field after drinking".

This record shows that the story of "the right to sober up" first appeared in Renzong period, but the plot was relatively simple; It was not until the rule of God that Su Shuiji's story became vivid.

This story is very interesting, a bit like Zhao Kuangyin's style of "winning the world in one fell swoop". Because of Sima Guang's fame, this western duel-style forest duel has never been noticed. Since 1930s, some scholars have questioned the vivid historical story that "drinking a glass of wine will give you the right to release a soldier".
First of all, Tan Lu only talked about the military strength of Shi Shouxin and Wang Shenqi, and did not hold a banquet to entertain guests. In addition to Shi Shouxin and Wang Shenqi, there are several other generals, plus the plot of "going the same way".
The so-called "soldiers' right to ban alcohol" in later generations basically originated from this. It is said that Shi Shouxin and Wang Shenqi were deprived of military power, and the officials were dismissed first, while the wily ones started feasting and painting, as if living in their territory. This story seems to have experienced a growing process from scratch, from simple to complex. The farther away from the party time, the more vivid and detailed the record will be. Obviously, this is the result of the author constantly supplementing and polishing the story to make it lively and interesting.
Second, all three books say that this matter is related to Zhao Pu, but there are different opinions. It is believed that the military strength of Shi Shouxin and Wang Shenqi was decided by Song Taizu after listening to Zhao Pu's talk. According to records, Mao "had to" agree with Zhao Pu's repeated persuasion; But when it comes to Su Shuiyue, it is the result of Mao and Zhao Pu's planning.
Third, the above three historical materials have different views on Stone and the way out after the king was deprived of military power. Finally, what did they do after being "deposed from military power"? No consistent statement can win people's trust.
Fourthly, the important event of "drinking and letting the soldiers go" was omitted in The Yueshi of Weishui edited by historians in the Northern Song Dynasty. San Mao Chao written by Tan Lu and Shi Lu at the end of Yuan Dynasty is still inconclusive. If there is such a commendable event, Shi Mao's record and the history of three dynasties will not be missed.
5. In which year did the "sober-up right" occur in the Northern Song Dynasty? This is not recorded in the above three books, but Li Dao, who was later than Sima Guang 100 years ago, said that this happened in July of the second year of Jianlong.
Read maoji in Song Dynasty carefully, and you will find a big loophole. Great-grandmother Du Taihou died in June of the second year of Stegosaurus, from early June to early July. According to the practice at that time, it was during the national mourning day. At that time, the court banned fun, let alone banquets.
Zhao Kuangyin can't violate this etiquette, but historical records say that Pu Zhao was the prime minister and Stegosaurus for two years. Zhao Pu's position is only Tommy's lieutenant and Taoist priest, not enough to plot great things with Zhao Kuangyin. His first worship was two years in Gander, that is, three years after "drinking a glass of wine and letting the soldiers go".
So many scholars believe that although it sounds interesting, it can't stand scrutiny and should be fake. Some scholars believe that the right to sober up has a great influence on the political and military process of the Song Dynasty and cannot be invented.
"Soldiers' right to sober up" has gone through a development process from simple to detailed, which may be correct, but it cannot be established if it has gone through a manufacturing process from scratch. In fact, we can ignore the details of "a glass of wine" and focus on the essence of "returning to the field".
In a word, a series of measures taken by Mao Zedong to cut off the military power and reform the military system have effectively ensured the long-term stability of Song Jun and completely ended the turbulent situation of military chaos, and the effect is self-evident.
