Li Jian was born in a literary family and was influenced by the family. He studied opera and practiced martial arts since he was a child. Li Jian was a naughty boy when he was a child, but his academic performance has been excellent since he went to school. He also served as monitor and president of the student union.

1988, Li Jian, who just entered junior high school, entered the music scene in Li Jian because of the popularity of Hong Kong and Taiwan music. They held the guitar and played it smartly, which fascinated young Li Jian. Since then, he has formed an indissoluble bond with the guitar. Mother bought him a cotton guitar with nearly two months' salary.

1993, Li Jian, a senior three student, studied folk songs for four months, and then participated in the winter camp held by Tsinghua University for literary lovers all over the country. During the activity, he won the first prize in China with a song "Tell the truth", and was finally sent to the Department of Electronic Engineering in Tsinghua University.
