When the parties agree to divorce, both parties must apply for divorce registration in person at the marriage registration office where one party has his or her registered permanent residence, and may not entrust another person to act as his or her agent.
Otherwise, the marriage registration authority will not accept the application.
The organs that handle divorce registration in my country are the sub-district offices or the civil affairs departments of the people's governments of municipal districts and municipalities without districts in cities, and the people's governments of townships, ethnic townships and towns in rural areas.
Parties applying for divorce should hold the following documents and certificates: ① Household registration certificate; ② Resident ID card;
③ Letter of introduction issued by the unit, village committee or residents’ committee; ④ Divorce agreement;
⑤Marriage certificate.
In addition, the divorce certificate and the single bareheaded photo required for archiving (provided according to the requirements of different regions) should also be delivered, and the "Divorce Application Form" should be filled out in accordance with the requirements of the marriage registration authority.
