Capital Sport University is an ordinary undergraduate physical education college in Beijing. It is the education development center of Asian University Sports Federation and the China International Promotion Wushu Training and Research Base of Hanban of the Ministry of Education.
The Foreign Exchange Training Center of the Student Sports Association of the Ministry of Education, the "Innovative Practice Base for High-level Internationalized Talents Training" of the Chinese-foreign Humanities Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education, the "Belt and Road" national-level talent training base in Beijing, and the training base for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympic Winter Games.
Capital Institute of Physical Education was founded in 1956, formerly known as Beijing Sports School. 1960, transformed into Beijing Physical Education Teachers College. 1962, merged into Beijing Normal University. 1979, Beijing Physical Education Teachers College resumed. In 2000, it was renamed Capital Institute of Physical Education. In 2020, according to the classified development plan of public universities in Beijing, it was identified as a "high-level characteristic university".
As of September, 2022, the school has three campuses: the headquarters campus, the North campus and the Fenghuangling campus, covering an area of 380 mu, and the total expenditure of teaching funds reaches 1, 654,38+0, 400 yuan; 9 teaching units, offering 15 undergraduate majors, 2 first-class master's degree authorization points, 6 first-class master's degree authorization points and 2 professional master's degree authorization points;
At present, the total number of full-time students in the school is 4573, including 3582 undergraduates, 882 master students, 77 doctoral students, 69 international students and 306 adult students.
