This one-sided, unscientific development view holds that development is the rapid operation of the economy, that is, the rapid growth of gross domestic product (GDP), while ignoring or even damaging people's needs and interests. The essence of this development view of "seeing things but not people" is a kind of "material-oriented" thought, which represents two different development views from people-oriented.
